911 Emergency Services, Safety & Emergency Notifications
POPP configures business phone numbers to support 911 emergency calling, helping protect employees, visitors, customers, and property.
For organizations using the POPP Cloud Phone System, emergency preparedness extends beyond simply connecting a 911 call. We configure the system to generate internal notifications when a 911 call is placed, helping designated personnel become aware of an emergency situation as it unfolds.
Depending on your organization’s needs, notifications can alert management, security personnel, reception staff, or other designated contacts that emergency services have been contacted. This additional awareness can help organizations coordinate internal response efforts, assist first responders, and improve overall workplace safety.
Whether the emergency involves a medical incident, workplace accident, security concern, or other critical situation, immediate internal awareness can make a meaningful difference in response time and coordination.

Authorized Contact Management & Access Controls
Every business has employees who need different levels of access to telecommunications services and account information. To help protect your organization, POPP allows account owners to designate approved contacts with specific permission levels.
This helps ensure that only authorized individuals can request changes, access sensitive information, approve charges, or manage telephone number services.
Three Levels of Authorized Access

Full Access
Full Access contacts typically include business owners, executives, office managers, or IT administrators.
These authorized contacts can:
- Report service issues
- Request service changes
- Approve charges and service orders
- Receive invoices and billing information
- Access call detail reports and CPNI-protected information
- Manage account permissions and contacts
Intermediate Access
Intermediate Access contacts are typically department managers, supervisors, or designated administrative personnel.
Depending on account configuration, these contacts may be authorized to:
- Report service issues
- Receive call detail reports
- Coordinate projects and moves
- Communicate with POPP support personnel
Limited Access
Limited Access contacts are typically employees who need to interact with POPP for support purposes but should not have access to sensitive account information.
These contacts are authorized to:
- Report service problems
- Request troubleshooting assistance
- Request configuration information
Limited Access contacts cannot approve charges, make account-level changes, receive invoices, or access protected call detail information.
Your Business Controls Access
POPP follows the permissions established by your designated account administrators. This ensures requests are handled efficiently while protecting your business from unauthorized changes or disclosure of sensitive information.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I keep my current business phone number(s) when switching providers?
Yes. In most cases, we can port your existing numbers to POPP with little to no downtime. Our team manages the entire process to ensure a smooth transition.
What do I need to do to have POPP port my phone numbers from my current provider?
The POPP representative that you work with to place the order will send you a number porting authorization form to sign, giving POPP permission to transfer your phone number from your old provider. We handle everything from there, and will schedule the transfer to happen on the date and time of your choosing to minimize any downtime.
How do Direct Inward Dial (DID) Numbers work?
A Direct Inward Dial (DID) number is assigned to each user of a VoIP phone system, and in some cases, on VoIP PRI or SIP Trunk services that connect to an on-premise PBX. DIDs allow callers to reach a specific extension or group without calling the main number and being transferred, or using auto attendant.
Can I choose what my outbound caller ID shows when I call out from my business?
Yes, with POPP, you can choose any phone number that you own to be your outbound caller ID number. This may be the main number, a DID number, or other number. You may also choose a caller ID name, with up to 15 characters including spaces.
Ready to Upgrade Your Business Communications?
