About Us
POPP.com® provides voice and data communication over worldwide telecom and Internet networks. We have two divisions, Network and Systems. Our Network division provides T-1, DSL, and Land Lines for connectivity outside the office and our Systems division provides telephone and data systems for connectivity inside the office.
POPP.com was incorporated in 1981 as LDB Corporation and licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as an Interexchange Carrier (IXC). In 1998, POPP.com received authority from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) to operate as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). Today, we serve over 9,000 businesses and employ over 100 people.
POPP.com is a pioneer in the competitive telecom industry and has played a role in significantly reducing voice and data communication rates. When POPP.com started in 1981, long distance rates were 45 cents per minute—today, POPP.com rates are as low as 3¢ per minute. In 1998, Land Lines were $55 and T-1s were $1200—today, POPP.com Land Lines are as low as $19 and T-1s are as low as $250. You would be hard pressed to find any other industry where the introduction of competition has reduced rates so dramatically. We are proud of the role we’ve played in reducing rates and intend to keep the pressure on.
POPP.com understands the important role that voice, Internet and data communication plays in everyday business activities and is focused on helping small businesses use big business communication tools and technologies. Since our beginning, POPP.com has focused on developing industry-leading products and services as well as innovative features that help businesses use their telecommunication services as a tool to save time and money. In 1982, POPP.com introduced account codes at the carrier level. In 1985, POPP.com was one of the first companies in the world to sell fax machines. In 2001, POPP.com introduced a first-of-its-kind billing and reporting system, TICCR (Telecom and Internet Communication Center Reports).

POPP.com is a privately held and debt free company. Our Corporate Office and Network Operations Center are located in Golden Valley, MN.
